Waste Management & Environmental Services Projects

Development One Architects partners with leading waste management and environmental service providers to design facilities that support demanding operational needs. Our experience includes recycling centers, maintenance facilities, and administrative buildings, where we prioritize efficiency, durability, and seamless coordination from concept through construction.

Bremerton, WA – Waste Management Recycling Facility

Development One conducted site evaluations and developed preliminary layouts for the expansion and redesign of an existing recycling center at a transfer station. After selection of a preferred concept, the team advanced the project through construction documents and permit submittal. The scope included space planning for recycling operations, expansion of the pre-engineered metal building to incorporate a push wall and load-out tunnel, and design alternatives for enclosing portions of the existing facility.

North Bend, WA – King County Loop Vehicle Maintenance Shop

Development One provided construction administration services for a new vehicle maintenance facility, acting as the owner’s representative throughout construction. The team responded to RFIs, reviewed submittals, and performed regular site visits while also leading LEED documentation efforts for the project’s targeted Platinum certification. The design included coordination with pre-engineered building systems and collaboration with the City to establish a new facility address aligned with the client’s branding.

Sun Valley, CA – Republic Services Administration Building

Development One supported the delivery of tenant improvements for an existing administration building, guiding the project from contract drawings through permitting and construction administration. The work involved coordination across multiple permit packages—including architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing—while managing design revisions during construction. The team worked closely with inspectors and stakeholders to ensure timely approvals and successful occupancy.
