Repair Flight Line Access Roads, NASA AFRC
Development One performed a project to repair flight line access roads at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center.
Elements of the project:
- First, the design called for a portion of existing asphalt pavement to be fully removed, disposed of, and replaced. We then overlaid and slurry sealed other areas.
- In addition, we designed all new asphalt paved roads and parking lots to be matched to existing alignment, street widths, and layouts.
- As per requirements, we protected all existing hand holes, vaults, manholes, valve wells, and survey monuments.
- Finally, all new asphalt pavement is sloped toward existing storm drain facilities to drain.
