Feasibility Study Basics
What is a feasibility study? That is a great question. Simple, but important.
We design airport terminals, aviation facilities, parking studies, laboratories, and more for clients. Often times, they don’t know where to start. During a feasibility study, we analyze the client’s needs and the site. The infrastructure and the geographic location of the building. When we put it all together it informs their needs, the cost, and what they can build on the site.
It is the roadmap for the architect, the designers, and the engineers. It helps them come together and develop the design of the facility client needs.
The Development One Difference
We’ve worked with clients like NASA, JPL, and the U.S. Air Force. We’ve done many aviation facilities, including Fullerton Airport, and John Wayne Airport. The feedback that we’ve gotten is that our work is very thorough.
We know that to design a facility, we need to be able to gather all the data to be able to develop a roadmap. We deliver this information so our clients are comfortable with the project direction. It is important that we conduct a feasibility study to be able to define the project. Our clients love that.
3 Keys to a Quality Feasibility Study
When you receive a feasibility study, ask yourself the following.
- Do you have a roadmap and direction that enables you to design your facility?
- Are you confident you’re heading in the right direction?
- Does it give you the information you need to design your facility?
Keep an eye out for plagiarized historical data and information.
A good feasibility study will limit the amount of paper used in your project. It will give you actual data that will enable your team to design a good facility for you.
