Modern Architecture is Great!
Modern architecture is synonymous with what most people know as “contemporary architecture”. The word “modern” is the opposite of traditional or historic. For instance, a lot of people, have a hard time accepting modern architecture. Also, this is because they’re used to the traditional, and historic forms of architecture.
Famous Examples
An example of modern architecture is the Getty Museum in Santa Monica. Also, this is one of my favorite pieces of architecture. It’s designed by Richard Meier, a popular modern architect our time.
There were also historic architects that produced modern architecture. An example is Frank Lloyd Wright. Frank Lloyd Wright designed the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Also, if you look at the Guggenheim, it is an exquisite building that was ahead of its time. Of course, to this day, it is one of my favorite pieces of modern architecture. Also, the building can live in a setting nearby Central Park, it’s magnificent.
The Guidelines for Unique Modern Architecture
There are other types of modern architecture. An example that comes to mind is the Crystal Cathedral. Philip Johnson designed the Cathedral and renamed it the “Christ Cathedral“. Also, the same architecture firm that Philip Johnson owned, is currently renovating the cathedral.
Everyone is curious to see how it’s going to turn out because it will now belong to the Catholic Church. Also, as many people know, the Catholic Church is very traditional. To be able to get the church from Schuller, its original owner, may he rest in peace, will prove a daunting task. As a result, the firm will convert the cathedral into a traditional church. This is because of the flavor of the Catholic faith. Also, there is a possibility for a suitable solution to occur. That will encompass the blend of both modern and traditional architecture. In conclusion, to see the results we’ll have to wait and see.
