Our quality standards are stringent here at Development One. We have a quality control program that focuses on change order prevention.

Change Order Prevention

A change order is when a contractor finds flaws in the architectural plans and charges a markup for the errors. The only way to not be responsible for errors is to provide a quality set of drawings.

An Emphasis on Demolition Drawings

We design a lot of facilities that evolve from an existing structure. A remodel or a retrofit. It’s inevitable – not all the buildings are going to be brand-new. What you have to deal with, within that existing building, can make or break the project. Our architectural plans at Development One are critical of what is there. A lot of people don’t put the emphasis on the demolition drawings, and we do.

Complete Documentation – Including Photographs

We document with the proper dimensions and the proper line work and so forth. Additionally, we include photographs as part of our architectural plans. We even mark-up the photographs to make sure that the contractor has a clear picture, pun intended. This shows what they are going to have to deal with in that facility. That has saved a lot of time, a lot of money, and a lot of headaches.

In the 30 years that we’ve been in business, nobody has ever sued us. That is a testament to the quality of our work. We’ve always had the mentality of providing very high quality, and we felt that that is what we owed our clients. They deserve nothing less. They deserve the best from us.
